Joni recalls glowing memories in new single "Orange"

Joni Fatora, or simply, Joni offers us a world filled with luminescent memories that peek through a haze of upbeat indie folk in her new single “Orange.” Using elements of synth-pop and folk, Joni recalls her days living in New York City, or rather the feeling those days evoked, how the light of those times glows within her still. “Orange” is the perfect track for nostalgic nights and daydream-filled mornings: the subtle electric guitars, sustained synths, and dreamy vocals of Joni all move like waves to a rhythm sharp and penetrating. The dramatic shift in direction that “Orange” takes during its midsection is as memories that come to life: one day, we remember them one way, and the other another, but all the same, they remain beautiful. Joni holds on to a withering love on "Botanical Baby"

Joni Fatora reflects on a distant love through quiet contemplation on "Botanical Baby." Fatora—who performs under the name Joni—is reminded of how human relationships can be as fleeting as the changing of the seasons. She's surrounded by nature, alluding to how flowers can be as beautiful as they are toxic. Joni's cooing vocals waft over a breezy, Tropicália-inspired melody with a tender embrace. There's a tinge of melancholy to her words, all the more bittersweet when sung with such languid ease.

Joni is currently working on an EP, due out later this summer. Watch the lyric video for "Botanical Baby" below. Juan Rodríguez

Joni shares haunting debut single, "Omens"

Joni Fatora enjoyed a fruitful career writing for other pop stars. During that time, the singer-songwriter, who goes by Joni, built the courage and confidence to put the credit into her own songs. And "Omens" is a satisfying first trial - the subtly layered midtempo track has a shimmering hook which progresses with a quietly haunting effect, where she exorcises the fears that plague her mind over an echoey production.
