Maybe you have wanted to hear Great Peacock's Americana stylings live, but don't like the idea of leaving the comfort of your own home. With the advent of streaming services, you can make your dream a reality. Great Peacock will perform live on April 28th on DittyTV, available on TiVo, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, or any other major streaming service. The performance follows a recent string of shows supporting the Infamous Stringdusters, and will kick off a series of tour dates throughout May and June to support Yonder Mountain String Band. Great Peacock announced the May 12th release of their full-length debut album "Making Ghosts" a few days ago, and accompanied the news with a fresh single, "Broken-Hearted Fool." The track has been a standby in their live sets, and carries such a classic edge to it that a casual listener might wonder what Wilco song the crew is covering. "Making Ghosts" will be releases via This is American Music, putting Great Peacock in the company of other Southern greats like Caleb Caudle, Fire Mountain, and The District Attorneys. We've been longtime fans to this bro-folk outfit and their ability to make us misty by way of one pefectly placed slide on the lap steel. If it feels like it's been a minute since Great Peacock has played Nashville, well, that's because it has. The folk players trapped in a rock band's body seems to have been giving love to all other points of the dirty South BUT Music City this summer, playing Hangout Fest in Florida and spending more time in Alabama than... George C. Wallace.  But that just means fans will be good and frothy for this long overdue show at The Stone Fox this Saturday.  Not only does absence make the heart grow fonder, but time on the road has likely heightened their already air-tight and heartfelt live show into temporary blackout territory.  Don't bring your grandma to this one.  You'll probably slap her.  -Terra James-Jura

Our Year End Poll for Emerging Nashville Artists was - as usual - a painstaking (and somewhat excruciating) process, but we pulled it off with remarkable flair!

Kudos to phenomenal punks Diarrhea Planet (pictured) for winning it, and to lo-fi riot grrrl Bully and mellow folksters Great Peacock for placing 2nd and third - we are very happy with this top 3, more gems are hidden in the list below, theough, check it out!

Here's how it all went down: first, we let the local bands submit their music (for free), and got our Deli editors to pick the nominees. Then we polled a list of 15+ Nashville scene expert (our jury, list at the bottom) and asked them to nominate 3 more bands of their choice each. Then we polled our writers, then we polled our readers. We tried to keep things open for each single genre, from Indie Rock to Roots Music to Hip Hop.
