Escape in the Island Vibes of The Soft Spots at The Yachtsman May 19

Ugh…is it Memorial Day Weekend yet? Unfortunately, it's not, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t already get away from this wretched hell of the workweek. With Beach Boys-esque harmonies, escape in the island vibes of The Soft Spots tonight at The Yachtsman. They’ll be headlining a free evening of music at the Fishtown tiki bar so you won’t have to travel far, but you might be forced to enjoy tropical mixed drinks with umbrellas. However, there are definitely worst things in life that can happen to you. The Yachtsmen, 1444 Frankford Ave., 9pm, Free, 21+ - H. M. Kauffman

The Deli Philly's Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner: The Soft Spots

Religion can bring people down many paths. For Shane Gallagher and the rest of The Soft Spots, it appears to have led them to an island oasis filled with pretty harmonies, shimmering synths and good vibes (and sometimes animal noises). The trio, which also includes Truong Ta and Corey Pass, has an ambitiously busy year pnned ahead of them, which you can learn about along with the bands origins and much more HERE.
