Alt Rock

Lavisher @ Burlington Bar (1/26)

Nefarious Industries announced today that they will be releasing the debut full-length album from Alt-Rockers Lavisher this Spring. The four-piece group released their self-titled debut EP back in 2017 and have been honing their sound ever since.

Lavisher is the work of Gavin Cushman III (vocals/guitar), Colin Morris (bass), Idin Alexander (drums), and Adam Tornheim (guitar). Over the summer they released a wild video for “Syzgy” from their debut EP.

You can catch Lavisher at Burlington Bar on January 26th with Huntsman and Tideshift.

A Deli Premiere: Eye For None release "End of Communication" LP on 01.18

Nashville power rockers Eye For None have worked around the clock getting their first album End of Communication ready for release. This debut disc, which drops on January 18th, contains a year's worth of material honed to a fine point, with tracks like "Love" throwing political jabs at the anti-immigration groups and "Things I Dream About" touching on identity and anxiety. Bandmates Kelly Hoppenjans, Steven Edwards, Chuck Stearns, Dylan Callahan, and Heather Miller each bring their own unique touch; Hoppenjans's voice and the band's cutthroat rhythm send shockwaves of energy on each track. Anyone who enjoys Paramore will like this album and the songwriting tact of Hoppenjans and Edwards; in fact, Halestorm engineer Jordan Logue brought his experience to this album, so fans of that group will also find a lot to enjoy in Eye For None's debut. Take a listen to "Smile", a featured song from the album, below; grab the full album when it's out. - Will Sisskind

New Track: "A.D.D." - The City & I

A new song from Colins "Bear" Regisford's The City & I has emerged. "A.D.D." captures a raw, funky, fuzz-punk tone. There’s a genre-melding, guitar-ripping openness to the track. It's in your face and heavy yet exudes an intimate vulnerability. Hopefully this is a precursor to a new album, a long-awaited follow-up to his debut Downer. (Photo by CJ Harvey)

Andrew La Tona & the Nightshades - Experimental Prog-Rock hits Horseshoe 01.22

Genre-bending is one way to describe Andrew La Tona & the Nightshades but I would prefer to say genre-shattering. Listening to the track “Power & Prowess” from their latest record you can hear their pop/prog/rock influences but the drums have an electronic feel with just a dash of jazz as well. It’s a wild track that reminds me of some of the more experimental U2 songs out there. The Nightshades will be playing Nu Music Nite at the Horseshoe Tavern on January 22nd. – Kris Gies

New Track: "Rescind" - Yarrow

A Mild Circus, the debut EP from the trio of Yarrow (which features member of Great Weights an King Azaz), is slated for release on February 15 via Get Better Records. Its lead single, “Rescind,” opens by initiating a sense of a noise-accented tension. Pointing out the misplaced malice of those dispersing negative actions and attitudes, it notes the clear discrepancy in ideological goals and perspectives between the aggressors and their victims. You can find Yarrow this Thursday, January 17 at Hubris House, as part of a lineup that also includes Absinthe Father and Fox Hollow.
