New Dreamswell LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

SPOILED, the first full-length album from the quartet of Dreamswell, is out now. The band transports you to its quaking, gauzy underworld, with its latest release. Peaceful/pummeling melodies forge ahead and invite you to follow them to desolate spaces, providing room to explore your own thoughts. On Friday, July 12, Boot & Saddle will host Dreamswell’s record release show, with Witching, Sold, and Stay At Home Dads.

Ultra Major brings '90s inspired guitar sound to Baby's All Right on 07.11

"I don't care what you think about it / because everything is perfect," the lyrics of "Lost in the Moment" say. The line is appropriately groveled and sung by Ultra Major, bringing listeners into four or so minutes of existential self-reflection, within an in-your-face sonic environment. In keeping with the best rock'n'roll tradition, both their singles released to date ("Lost in the Moment" and "Drag") promote of letting go of control, revealing influences by '90s heavyweights like Foo Fighters and Smashing Punpkins with an added emo element to the mix.

The band's sonic identity consists of muddy, distorted guitars, fast-paced drums, and filtered vocals. Their lyrics, which channel apathy and existentialism in ways alternatively soft and dramatic, bring up big questions regarding personal search and the quest for peace of mind - without providing answers. While "Lost in the Moment" makes the case for isolation and solace, "Drag" assures the listener that moving forward is the only answer. You'll be able to see the group live at Baby's All Right on July 11th. - Susan Moon

One Time Weekend is a funky carnival of sounds too good to pass up, plays BRYAC Black Rock 06.28

Letting its reggae and funk influences lead the way, the group from Collinsville, CT known as One Time Weekend has crafted a record you can move to. Weekend at the Circus is jam-packed with hip electric guitar solos, fun changes in tempo, rapid-fire vocals, and piano notes that shine among the carnival of sounds. The lead vocal melodies on tracks like “Gandalf” and “Cavity” have the magnetism of great orators like Sublime’s Bradley James Nowell or Gym Class Heroes’ Travie McCoy; the instruments move the party along with groovy basslines to spare. One Time Weekend’s summer tour continues with a stop at BRYAC Black Rock in Bridgeport, CT on June 28th. We are streaming “Cavity” below for your enjoyment. - Rene Cobar

New Yeenar EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

The quartet of Yeenar recently dropped its new EP Nonbloomer, which was co-produced by Mark Watter (Rosu Lup, Howlish). The record captures a delightfully melodic, powerpop picture. Allowing in momentous swells of unencumbered heaviness, the band juxtaposes beauty with a bluntness. You can catch Yeenar at Milkboy on Saturday, August 17, in support of Dionysia.

London Stone - New EP "Just How High" from "Modern Stoner Rock" Band

Modern Stoner Rock is an excellent way to describe London Stone (I didn’t make it up). “Just How High” is the band’s second release working with Producer/Head Chef, Alex Gamble (Arkells, Pup, Broken Social Scene) and Mastering Engineer, Brock McFarlane (Carly Rae Jepsen, Marianas Trench, k-os) and recorded at Union Sound in downtown Toronto. The opening track “I Just Might” has some major Queens of the Stone Age influences on it. Hits hard with great sonic qualities. “Just How High” is available now on all major platforms. – Kris Gies
