New Port Henry EP Available for Streaming & Download

Port Henry recently unearthed a sonic capsule, which they've named BSL MSI. Assisted by electronic experimentation, there’s a light, tranquil ambiance with an unpredictable nature, found on the band's latest release. Delicate grooves twist and turn through a key/percussion-oriented space. As the band works on a new record, these quirky, subdued recordings provide a strange bit of comfort.

New Music Video: "Really Fast Cars" - Don Babylon

Foul, the sophomore album from Virginia transplants Don Babylon, is scheduled for release on September 28 via Medical Records. Filmed and edited by Andrew Silverman (of The Retinas & Bigmouth Philly), the new video for “Really Fast Cars” occupies a carefree/braggadocious/sarcastic aesthetic, putting the songs casual imagery into visual form. Don Babylon is currently on tour with Car Seat Headrest and Naked Giants, which will be making a stop this evening for a sold-out performance at Union Transfer. (Photo by Michelle Singer)

New Music Video: "The Gray Tower" - Goshen Electric Co.

Strand Of Oaks’s Tim Showalter has joined forces with the surviving members of Magnolia Electric Co. to form Goshen Electric Co. as a tribute to Jason Molina. The collaborative project has recorded a pair of Songs: Ohia tracks, which will be released as a 7’’ on November 2 via Dead Oceans. Filmed by Colin Kerrigan & Rocco Avallone (Out Of Town Films), the video for “The Gray Tower,” with its behind-the-curtain, black & white setting, captures the genuine, heartfelt emotion and power of the song. It's soulful, at-home folk that simply kicks ass.

New The Spirit Of The Beehive LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Hypnic Jerks is the latest album from The Spirit Of The Beehive, and is out now via Tiny Engines. Hovering between a laid-back, melodic cloud and dramatic shifts of intensity, the band finds a mechanism to bring down tensions without eliminating them. An eerie, warped element hangs in the periphery, creating a mesh between odd, groovy precision and gritty abruptness. You can catch The Spirit of the Beehive with Boston's Pile on Thursday, October 18 at The First Unitarian Church.
